Vintage Kimono Collection – From design to creation

I travelled to Japan for my honeymoon a few years ago and I completely fell in love and lust with their beautiful silk kimonos. I returned to Australia with one kimono for myself but I wanted more.......... hence my new vintage kimono jewellery collection.

I purchase silk vintage kimonos from Japan and give them new life as jewellery – kimono Kanzashi flower brooches and necklaces and kimono resin brooch. Each piece of jewellery is unique and limited edition as the vintage kimono fabric is bought one at a time and loving folded into new creations.

I wear my kimono kanzashi flower on dresses and tops and I have even used a small group of brooches to jazz up a cushion.

Homewares Range Begins!

Welcome to my new Homewares Range.

Kim Armstrong resin homewares are handmade in Australia with love and care. Each resin dish is hand poured and sanded to a smooth, luscious matt finish.

The dishes are stackable, perfect for organising your precious items. I am using mine for holding cotton balls in the bathroom, jewellery in bedroom and to hold a tea light candle in lounge room.

These dishes are available in a range of colours and you can order one or a set in any colour you like.

Dishes are available online at my Madeit Store and in store at Incube8r in Fortitude Valley in Brisbane city.

New Turquoise Designs

I am back from my overseas travels and I have been busy creating some new turquoise designs for my madeit store. These earrings and bracelet are made with 10mm round silver plated beads and 14mm turquoise stones. They look stunning with jeans or your favourite dress.

Turquoise is a stone that will protect the wearer from negative energy and bring good fortune. The turquoise is the symbol of friendship. It also brings peace to the home.

Handmade and polished resin jewellery made in my studio. Colours are numerous and hand mixed colours can be made to compliment other items, such as clothing colours.

For every dollar made by purchasing an item from my madeit store from today until 5pm Sunday 16 January 2011, I will donate the same amount to the Premiers QLD flood appeal. Every bit helps.

My thoughts and best wishes are with those families affected by the flood crisis. A special thought is held for those Defence families dealing with the crisis throughout Brisbane and Ipswich. Many of these families will be dealing this situation on their own while their loved ones are serving overseas. I am very lucky that my little patch of Bris-vegas is dry and safe.
