Latest Creation - Amber Earrings

The latest creation from my design studio is the cutest amber tear drop earrings on silver plated earring hoops.

Amber is one of my favourite items to create jewellery with - its intense warm colour like golden honey always uplifts my spirits. Amber is actually fossilised tree resin, cheering and joyful, repels spiders and is a powerful healer. It is said to stimulates intellect, purifies birthing rooms (when burned) and can be used to assure vows and promises.

The Story So Far......

I am originally a Canberra girl but I have now been in Brisbane for about eight months. I have been designing and making my own jewellery for several years to meet my own desire to wear unique and individual jewellery – earrings, necklaces, bracelets, brooches and rings. I collect items that I design into my jewellery from around the world. I love to travel and I always come home with lots of beads, threads and other items that are just waiting to be crafted into a new piece of jewellery.

When I discovered madeit, I was thrilled to have an avenue to share my jewellery with others. I have been selling my handmade jewellery on my madeit store, Kim Armstrong Jewellery and Design, for a little while now. In the last month or so my sales have started to fly, so I have decided to create my own site to connect with other crafty folk and supporters of Australian handmade products.

Here on my blog, I will be sharing my new designs, stockist, items I love and things that inspire me to create. I am looking forward to chatting with fellow crafters and other inspired folk alike.
